Hello Kim, we have a first ritual that involves asking you to introduce yourself to our dear reader audience.
Hello everyone, I am Kim Sadou, Cameroonian, musician artist and film actress. Born in Ngoro in the Department of Mbam and Kim. At the age of three (03), I migrated to the city of Yaoundé for my maternal, primary, secondary, and university studies. I am currently studying the art of performing and cinematography. I love adventures, travels, music, and good African food.
Why this nickname of ‘La Mbamoise’?
Because I am from Mbam, it is a way for me to popularize this region which includes two departments rich in culture and agriculture. «La Mbamoise» also because I would especially like to impact the woman of the Mbam to be dynamic, independent and intelligent because for me we are already very beautiful in the Mbam, we should add to this natural asset all the characteristics I mentioned above to be accomplished women.
What is your musical background ?
Before singing, I started with dancing. From my mother’s womb I dance, then at primary school, during high school fairs, with many artists, on television sets. Around sixteen (16) years old, I began to take an interest in cinema, with the troupe ‘Les lascars’ and it was in the cinema that I discovered singing. I was retained by a group of rappers with whom I worked for two (02) years. The cinema is still not far because my music has been selected as the theme song of a film with the BCC for Business production. Four (04) years later, with the encouragement of my family, I write nearly six (06) songs, the first of which was released in 2019 titled ‘Amina’. This is how my career is launched. For professional reasons, I decided to take a break in order to better learn the profession and come back with a little more tools.
When you are watched dressed and dancing … you leave nothing to chance and everything plunges us into a unique and artistic universe. Why this attention to detail ?
It’s true that my stage outfits are well thought out for the simple reason that I make listening music. My style of music is called folk jazz. It is a music that brings together instruments and melodies from Africa accompanied by my voice which I can qualify as griotte since I inherited vocal tones from my maternal and paternal grandfathers, both great singers at the time in the villages. The details of my outfits come from my ancestors, a message that I pass on and above all it’s my personal identity. For me, my costume is everything that makes my scenic beauty.
A last word for our readers ?
I would like to tell everyone and my fans not to get tired of me. My absence for a good period is due not only to my studies, but also because I would like to serve them very original content. I am also eager to return to the scene. But God’s time remains better. I would like to say thank you to them for their love towards me. Thank you for continuing to support me and above all, do not stop bringing your criticism because no one is perfect. We learn every day. I learn from you, through my experience and I sing this daily life that we live together every day. Thank you again and may God bless you. Thank you Kim!
